Clearly some editor did not look very carefully at this illustration.
Straight from a 1956 textbook. The rules are simple: Children sit in a circle while one child, "the poor pussy," kneels before each of them and meows in an attempt to make them laugh.
But I can't with the illustrations. Nope. STAHP IT.
