In 1918 Someone Made This Cat A Tiny Flu Mask

Doesn’t that make you feel slightly better about the world?

This photo, labeled "Flu epidemic" by the archivist, is in the collections of the Dublin (California) Heritage Park and Museums. The library dates the picture "ca. 1920s," but I'd wager this is from more like 1918-1920, when the global flu pandemic was a real big deal.

Hopefully it all worked out.
