The political world may have found a new star.
In August, North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory signed into law a controversial voter ID bill that made it harder for young people to register to vote, and prohibited preregistration of 16 and 17-year-olds.
Over the past months, thousands have protested the law, and on Monday 12-year-old Madison Kimrey gave an impassioned speech against the bill at a Burlington, N.C., rally.
"We young people have a serious leadership problem here in North Carolina," she said.

"I wanted to meet with our governor to discuss pre-registration, but he called my request 'ridiculous' and called me a prop for liberal groups," said Kimrey.
