WWE Royal Rumble Main Event Winner Ignites Outrage On Twitter

The hashtag #CancelWWENetwork began trending on Twitter after Roman Reigns picked up the win at the annual WWE event.

Over the past year, wrestling fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the WWE's attempt to push Roman Reigns, an inexperienced star, to the top over wrestlers with more genuine fan-favorite appeal.

Complaints about Reigns range from his inability to perform on the microphone to his skills inside the ring. Although many believe Reigns has the potential to be a great superstar, he's simply not ready for the main even at WrestleMania. WWE refuses to push for the more popular superstars like Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, and Cesaro, opting instead for Reigns.

Fan dissatisfaction reached a peak last night in Philadelphia, when Reigns, who is a babyface (wrestling-speak for good guy), won the 30-man Royal Rumble match.

Reigns threw Rusev over the top rope to pick up the win. This puts him in a main event title match against WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, taking place March 29, 2015, in Santa Clara, California.

As the match came to the predetermined conclusion, fans could be heard chanting "BULLSHIT" and "WE WANT REFUNDS."

Fan favorite Daniel Bryan was eliminated very early in the match, to the surprise of many.
