Bill Maher: President Obama "Lied To People" About Health Insurance

The late night host slammed the president for assuring Americans they could keep their health insurance under Obamacare despite knowing that millions would have their plans cancelled. CNN host Piers Morgan agreed, “it was a lie, wasn’t it.”

"I don't think Obama should have lied to people," Maher said. But if the president told Americans the price of their health insurance could rise under the Affordable Care Act, the law may not have passed, he surmised.

"When I see the president of the United States repeatedly -- including at the State of the Union -- assuring the American people, look, you want to keep your doctor, you want to keep your plan, you will. And he said it again, and again, and again, now we know the senior members in his very administration knew all along, for three years, that probably at least 50% of all the people that applied, that would not apply to them, they would have to change their plan, that is a bare faced lie," Piers Morgan said. "And I speak as somebody that is supporting of Obamacare."

President Obama has repeatedly said, "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan" under the Affordable Care Act. But a report on Monday revealed the administration knew millions would not be able to keep their health insurance under the new law.
