So you're looking to get away for the weekend, kick back on the beach, soak in the sun. Hawaii is too crowded, the Bahamas are too far away. Never fear, California is hiding the cutest little secret beach town of Cayucos.
This tiny little town has a cute main street, plenty of antique stores, and one Wild West-style saloon. It's at the north end of Estero Bay in San Luis Obispo County, and while other towns in the area may be shrouded in fog, Cayucos weather is almost always sunny, warm, and beautiful.
Cayucos may have just one main drag, but it has more bed and breakfasts than you can shake a stick at. Check out On the Beach to wake up right next to the ocean, Cass House for an authentic Victorian experience, and Sunset Inn for breathtaking luxury.
In the morning, you can stop by Top Dog Coffee Bar and Cafe and bring your dog to hang in the outdoor seating. The baristas are super friendly, and always eager to show off their latte art skills!
Or head next door to A Deli and Pieman Pies, which is, yes, a deli, but also (way more importantly!) a pie shop!
