A Man Had Two Of His Fingertips Sliced Off While Riding "Pirates Of The Caribbean" At Disney

They weren’t joking about keeping your hands inside the ride at all times.

Unfortunately for all of us, a middle-aged vacationer from the United Kingdom decided to challenge these simple instructions this week.

Because of this, the man ended up losing the tips of his ring and pinky fingers on his right hand.

It is unclear exactly how this happened, though some sources are reporting that the guest claims to have had his hands dangling off the side of the boat.


"He was very calm and not freaking out, and the medics said he said the accident was his fault as he had his hand where it should not have been," said fire department spokesman Bo Jones, adding that the man lost the tip of his ring finger down to the bottom of the nail, while his pinky was gone down to the first knuckle.


The man (whose personal information has not been released, though he is in his 40s) was treated at Celebration Hospital before being released.
