This Mesmerizing Timelapse Shows How Earth Looks In Infrared

Who knew water vapor could be so beautiful?

A new HD video shows Earth in infrared using images from two NASA geostationary satellites.

Here you can see water vapor in the atmosphere between Nov. 30th of last year to just this week, ending on Jan. 26, 2015. Clouds and water vapor absorb infrared light, which appear as storms and trade winds.

Creator James Tyrwhitt-Drake also did a side-by-side view of our hemispheres synchronized in infrared, which you can see here.
